BREAKING NEWS: Deputies find body of young child buried near home of couple accused of child abuse

GLOUCESTER — It looked like a fairly tranquil scene on a sunny Friday afternoon — a blue-and-white single-wide mobile home with an American flag on the porch. The grass surrounding it was neatly trimmed with pink spring flowers in bloom. But inside the residence at Waterview Mobile Home Park on Thursday night, the Gloucester Sheriff’s Department discovered a 5- to 6-year-old girl imprisoned in a crib that had been modified to form a cage. The girl was “extremely malnourished and suffering from severe starvation,” according to the Gloucester County Sheriff’s Office. She was “covered in feces and in the nude.” A piece of wood kept the girl in her prison, according to a news release.
