Grant awarded to Dreamcatchers
At the Sanilac County Community Foundation (SCCF) meeting held in December, recipients of the fall, 2012 grant round were on hand to receive their grant funds and to describe their funded projects. Taylor Bissett (left) and Kylie Ambu (right) YAC Members, presented a check to Pamela Oziah (center) from DREAMCATCHERS FOR ABUSED CHILDREN. The grant, in the amount of $575, was funded by the YAC (Youth Advisory Council) to be used for printed materials for a child abuse prevention program. SEE MORE HERE

By the time you finish reading this, 15 children will have been abused; In the next five minutes, 30 more; Within the next hour, 360 more; And by tonight, close to 8,000+ children will have suffered from abuse, 5 of which will die. Child abuse has increased 134% since 1980 and is now considered a worldwide epidemic.
