Man charged with child abuse after spanking kids with belt

MARY ESTHER – A 30-year-old man was charged after a child protection doctor determined that he physically abused two children.

On Aug. 8, the children, who are 4 and 7 years old, got in trouble for playing too loudly in the living room, according to an Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office arrest report. Russell Brian McKesson pulled one of the children’s shorts down and spanked the child with a black braided belt, leaving marks that were visible for three days.
