SWAMPSCOTT — A 38-year-old Swampscott man plied a teenage girl with alcohol and raped her inside his apartment 20 times since last summer, according to Swampscott police.

Robert V. Kincaid of 55 Berkshire St., Apt. 1, Swampscott, was arrested yesterday on 20 counts of statutory rape of a child. The girl was 14 at the time the incidents began, police said.

Kincaid was also charged with 20 counts of procuring alcohol for a minor.

The sexual assaults took place over nine months in the apartment Kincaid rents in a Swampscott house, police said. The most recent incident took place last month, according to police.

“She stayed at the house several times …” Detective Sgt. Tim Cassidy said. “There are 20 different incidents that we’re investigating.”

The victim, who is not from Swampscott, was visiting residents in the house where Kincaid lived, according to police.

The alleged victim went to police Thursday night to make the allegations. After the interview, Swampscott Detective Francis Delano obtained a search warrant from a clerk at Lynn District Court.
