Sex Gang Convicted of Sexually Abusing Children

Posted by Sandra On November - 26 - 2010
Ringleader Mohammed Romaan Liaqat (PA)
A gang of ‘sexual predators’ who preyed on scores of girls, plying them with drink and drugs before using them as sex toys has been convicted.

Their vulnerable victims, one aged just 12, were picked up off the streets and taken to ‘parties’ where they were abused, sometimes by several men, one after the other. Two married fathers can be named today as the ringleaders after reporting restrictions on three trials during the year were lifted. Abid Mohammed Saddique, 27, of Normanton, Derby, was convicted of four counts of rape, two of false imprisonment, two of sexual assault, three charges of sexual activity with a child, perverting the course of justice and aiding and abetting rape.  Mohammed Romaan Liaqat, 28, of Sinfin, Derby, was found guilty of one count of rape, two of sexual assault, aiding and abetting rape, affray and four counts of sexual activity with a child.
