Son of accused child rapist denies incriminating father

BLOUNTVILLE — The adult son of a Kingsport bondsman accused of child rape testified in Blountville on Tuesday that he never saw his father engaged in any sex acts with the alleged victim and denied telling investigators that he had.

James David Thompson, last known address 201 Woods Edge Drive, Kingsport, is set for trial in November for an alleged rape of female relative when she was 12. The incident is alleged to have occurred between January 1997 and January 1998. Thompson was arrested on Jan. 21, 2009. At that time, he was a bail bondsman for Bad Boyz Bonding Co.
