St. Albans Mother Arrested for Death of 2-mth old Infant

Zerlinda C. White, 23, has been arrested for Child Abuse Resulting in Death of her almost 2-month-old baby.

ST. ALBANS — On April 7, St. Albans Police Department responded to a call from Thomas Memorial Hospital regarding a deceased infant. Investigators from the State Medical Examiner’s Office believed the infant was a victim of abuse that caused the death, according to a news release from the St. Albans Police Department.

An autopsy confirmed that the child, Ayden White, two days away from turning 2-months-old, died of “an abusive closed head injury.”

The Kanawha Bureau of Investigation arrested the boy’s mother, Zerlinda C. White, 23, of St. Albans, for Child Abuse Resulting in Death. The felony is punishable by 10-40 years.

The death occurred at a residence in the 2700 block of Kanawha Terrace, St. Albans.
