St. Pete police looking for child rape suspect

Posted by Sandra On April - 5 - 2010

A man accused of raping a child appears to have fled the area, St. Petersburg police said.

Detectives are searching for Robert Lee Hollins Jr., 55, whose last known address is in Riverview. A warrant charges him with one count of capital sexual battery; his bail is set at $100,000.

Police said the victim recently told a relative that Hollins sexually battered her several times between 1999 and 2004 in St. Petersburg, when she was younger than 12.

Hollins’ family said he doesn’t have a cell phone or car, has a history of drifting and spent two years living in Yosemite National Park, police said.

Anyone with information should call police at (727) 893-7780, a tip line at (727) 892-5000 or text a tip to (727) 420-8911.
